Here’s a look of what Ethical Corporation subscribers will receive in our March edition

In a seven-page briefing we’ll be looking at heavy industry and analyzing how big industrial companies are engaging with the corporate responsibility agenda. There will be an overview of trends within the industry, plus analysis on key issues such as working in emerging economies and project financing. You’ll also hear about the key NGOs in this space and what their agendas are.

The second of our new country briefings is published in the March edition. This briefing will present which CSR issues are big in China. We review which companies are focusing on what issues including corruption, supply chain and consumer consciousness. Plus, we consider the Chinese NGO viewpoints and analyze how the political context of the country impacts on corporate sustainability in China

In this month’s Strategy and Management section we interview Fabio Barbosa, CEO, Grupo Santander Brasil (GSB) finding out what are the challenges the finance sector face in Brazil and how banks, in his opinion, can regain trust.

In addition, this month will also feature a detailed review of grievance resolution mechanism devised by Professor John Ruggie as part of his work as the UN secretary-general’s special representative on human rights. Five companies are testing this mechanism, including Cerrejon Coal in Colombia, Hewlett Packard and Tesco. Oliver Wagg asks how does the mechanism work and what do Ruggie and his team want it to achieve? Plus, what do the companies taking part in the trial think and how are the trials working out?

The corporate responsibility report Review section will see the latest offerings from The John Lewis Partnership.

Of course there will be the usual commentary from our regular columnists; Mallen Baker, Paul French, Jon Entine and Peter Knight.
