PR firm Weber Shandwick has appointed Chad Boettcher as senior vice-president for corporate responsibility. Boettcher was most recently at Nike, where he was global director of corporate responsibility. Previously he was senior director for strategic partnerships and public affairs at MTV.

Bill Eyres has left Body Shop to join UK mobile phone giant O2 as head of corporate responsibility, environment and sustainability. He will report to O2 communications director Glenn Manoff.

Kevin Martinez has joined auditor KPMG in the newly created position of executive director of corporate citizenship. Martinez was most recently vice-president for community affairs at Home Depot and president of the Home Depot Foundation. He will chair KPMG’s newly established corporate citizenship steering committee.

Mallen Baker has left his role as a director of UK membership group Business in the Community to run Business Respect, a start-up web business promoting corporate social responsibility globally.

Separately, Business in the Community has appointed Gudrun Cartwright as climate change campaign manager. She will work closely with the Confederation of British Industry to implement the “Climate Change – everyone’s business” initiative.

The Forest Stewardship Council, the timber certification body, has appointed Andre Giacini de Freitas as its new executive director, replacing Heiko Liedeker.

Global commercial property services firm Jones Lang LaSalle has appointed Anita Mitchell as head of energy and sustainability services, Australasia, and head of energy and sustainability services strategy, Asia-Pacific. She joins from homebuilder Bovis Lend Lease, where she was head of sustainability, Asia-Pacific.

Anita Roper has been appointed chief executive of Sustainability Victoria, a government body promoting sustainable development in the Australian state. She joins after four years as director of sustainability at mining company Alcoa.

WATG, one of the world’s largest design consultancies for the hospitality and leisure industry, has appointed Shaun Hannah as director of sustainability.

Hudson Clean Energy Partners, the US private equity firm founded by three former Goldman Sachs bankers, has drafted in Shaun Kingsbury as a partner, responsible for its European operations. Kingsbury is a former “entrepreneur in residence” and adviser to 3i on clean-energy investments.

Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company has appointed Lorie Valle-Yanez as vice-president for diversity and inclusion.
