BBMG, the sustainability branding and marketing firm, has appointed Eve Smith and Benita Singh as brand strategists. Smith joins BBMG from the CSR Group, a management and communications firm. Her clients there included Dell, Whole Foods Market and Brown-Forman. Singh joins from Lotus by League of Artisans, a marketing firm in India.

Radley Yeldar, the communications consultants, has appointed two new CR consultants, Stine Jensen and Rachel Madan. Stine joins from PAU Education in Spain. Madan was formerly a marketing and strategy consultant at Gold Standard, a Swiss NGO promoting high quality carbon offsets.

The Bezier Group, a UK retail marketing agency, has appointed Paul Haycock as corporate social responsibility manager in a bid to reduce the firm's environmental impact. Haycock will develop and implement the group’s CSR strategy.

Interserve, the services, maintenance and building group, has appointed Wayne Tantrum as sustainability director for its facilities management business. Tantrum joins Interserve from Siemens where he worked on sustainability.

TFS Green, the specialist emissions markets desk of UK-based broker Tradition, has hired Luca Bertali as a trader focusing on the structuring of primary market transactions. Bertali was formerly leader of Swiss investment bank UBS carbon business.

Ger Bergkamp has been appointed as general director of the World Water Council, an international multi-stakeholder group that lobbies on water policy. Daniel Zimmer, who had served as executive director of the council since November of 2001, will continue as associate director in charge of the preparation of the Fifth World Water Forum until June 2009.

SAM (Sustainable Asset Management) , a Zurich-based ethical investor, has appointed Roman Binder chief operating officer and member of the company’s executive committee. He was formerly at Credit Suisse.

The UK government has appointed a special representative on climate change. John Ashton, a career diplomat and government adviser, will be charged with building new international partnerships to tackle climate change.

Beth Colleton is the new vice-president of US media and entertainment giant NBC Universal’s environmental initiative “Green Is Universal”. Colleton was formerly head of corporate social responsibility for the National Football League, where she worked for 15 years.

UK government-funded WRAP (Waste and Resources Action Programme) has announced the official appointment of Dr Liz Goodwin as chief executive. Goodwin had been acting as interim CEO since the departure of Jennie Price in March.

Hermes Real Estate, the property investment arm of asset manager Hermes, has appointed Tatiana Bosteels as head of responsible property investment. She joins from the London Climate Change Agency, the body that oversees London’s strategy for cutting greenhouse gas emissions, where she was climate change manager.
