Henderson Global Investors has appointed Seb Beloe as head of socially responsible investment research. Beloe joins Henderson from consultants and think-tank SustainAbility where he was vice-president for research and advocacy.

Vodafone has made Chris Burgess its new corporate responsibility director. Burgess succeeds Charlotte Grezo, who has taken up a senior role at investment bank Lehman Brothers.

The Vodafone UK Foundation has appointed Kyle Whitehill as chair of trustees. Whitehill is director of the Enterprise Business Unit at Vodafone and a member of the UK board.

Simon Edwards has been appointed global marketing and communications director of the Marine Stewardship Council.

The European Union has charged Georg Wilhelm Adamowitsch with integrating energy generated from offshore wind farms in the Baltic and North Seas into the continental grid.

The International Corporate Governance Network has appointed Kerrie Waring as chief operating officer. Waring joins the ICGN from the Institute of Chartered Accountants, England and Wales, where she was corporate governance manager.

Solar power firm Tioga Energy has made consultant Preston Roper executive vice-president for corporate development and operations. US rival Advent Solar has taken on semiconductor expert Peter Green as president and chief executive.

Hudson Clean Energy Partners, a start-up private equity group in the US, has hired Craig Cornelius from the Department of Energy’s solar energies programme.

Brand and communications consultancy Clownfish has appointed Matthew Mellen as account manager.

F&C Investments has recruited George S Dallas as director of corporate governance. Dallas joins F&C from Standard & Poor’s in London.
