Ethical Corporation are gearing up to close entries for their inaugural Awards. Companies have only 3 more days to enter their company for the illustrious Awards. A shortlist will then be announced on the 5th March 2010. 23 February 2010, London

The shortlist announcement is eagerly awaited by a community whose imagination has been captured by the initiative.

Over 400 large multinationals have downloaded an entry form for the Awards - all of whom will keenly await the 5th March announcement.

Nick Johnson, Awards Co-Ordinator for Ethical Corporation, says:

"This has been a hugely interesting period for us. It seems the CR community has been crying out for a set of Awards that they can trust. With entrants from 14 countries and 10 different industries, it looks like we've managed to provide that, which is great."

Those worried that the Awards would be a local affair have been calmed by news that already, companies Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Russia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, the UK, the USA, Brazil and Australia from have entered.

And those concerned that the EC Awards would simply add to the 'noise' of other CSR award ceremonies out there have been reassured by the experienced judging panel Ethical Corporation have brought together.

Judges include

* Tony Juniper, ex-Head of Friends of the Earth in England & Wales, and current special advisor with the Prince of Wales' Rainforest Project
* Penny Shepherd OBE, Chief Executive of the UK Social Investment and Finance Association
* Professor David Grayson CBE, Director of the Doughty Centre for Corporate Responsibility at Cranfield University
* Alison Austin OBE, Former Head of Sustainability at Sainsbury's

The judging panel is chaired by Brendan May, contributing editor to Ethical Corporation, and ex-Chief Executive of the Marine Stewardship Council.

Companies looking to enter the awards can still do so, though entries must be received by Friday 26th February 2010.
