This is not the case. Randgold have contacted us and pointed out the mine had been operating on a care and maintenance basis because that was an efficient way of sustaining the significant ore reserves and resources while a buyer for the mine was sought. In addition, Randgold has clarified that in April 2004 the mine was purchased by Resolute Mining, who have since recapitalised the mine and plan to resume production by the end of the year.
