CenterWatch launches trial results database for patients and professionals
The database is designed to provide easy access to information about the results of recently completed and ongoing clinical trials and allows patients and professionals to search the database by specific medical conditions. In addition, the database provides information on the safety and effectiveness of specific treatments in active clinical trials that are targeting a given medical condition.
"The Trial Results resource was created due to an overwhelming interest in the performance of the growing number of drug's in the development pipeline," said Kristen Eschmann, Manager of Drug Intelligence at CenterWatch. "More patients are becoming involved in clinical trials and they are concerned about the safety and efficacy of specific medical treatments. In addition, pharmaceutical companies are extremely interested in the results of their competitors' drugs and the investment community wants more information to monitor company performance during the development stages."
The information provided via the database is based upon proprietary updates, published materials from medical conferences and journals and company reports. The clinical trail result summaries, typically include the name and phase of the new therapy, the company sponsoring the research, a description of the trial design and information on how well the drug has performed.
