SoftWatch and K2 Digital collaborate to provide employee wellness capabilities for Intranets

Under the terms of the agreement, SoftWatch and K2 will offer technology and services to companies wanting to promote employee health and wellness by offering Web-based tools on the corporate Intranets. The program will be based around SoftWatch's flagship eCRM platform, SoftWatch Relationship Server (SRS), which is designed to build and deploy relationship-driven health and wellness management channels for large corporations. SRS is currently used by a number of pharmaceutical and healthcare companies, including Abbott Laboratories, Aventis, Procter & Gamble, Johnson & Johnson, Schering Plough and GlaxoSmithKline.

"Our partnership with K2 allows us to enter this growing marketplace from a position of strength by combining SoftWatch's understanding of online healthcare management with K2's leadership in defining best practices for corporate Intranets," said Lyn Falconio, Vice President of Alliance Development at SoftWatch. "For companies for whom supporting employee health is integral to their success, the corporate Intranet provides a powerful channel for introducing eCRM health programs to the workplace."

According to the partnering companies, a number of large organizations have begun assuming increased responsibility for employee wellness by implementing workplace programs designed to decrease absenteeism, reduce injuries that account for workman's compensation claims and boost morale. SoftWatch and K2 believe that providing wellness services on a corporate Intranet has the potential to increase the productivity of employees while saving millions in administrative and distribution costs and making important information available to employees.

"We believe that SoftWatch's SRS technology platform and hands-on familiarity with healthcare and e-business will enable us to offer a valuable new service to clients who want to expand their Intranet's functionality to create a powerful healthcare resource and management tool," said Steve Schwartz, Director of Strategic Alliances for K2 Digital. "Together, we look forward to helping companies leverage existing IT investments to create next-generation wellness Intranets that generate value for employees, while maximizing their overall investment in healthcare."
