E-Z-EM joins Global Healthcare Exchange

"We are pleased to be a part of GHX and to join with our industry partners to provide true purchasing efficiencies for our customers," said Joseph Palma, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for E-Z-EM. "Via the Internet, hospitals have fast access to suppliers and accurate, up-to-date information on products and pricing. E-Z-EM, in turn, will be provided with a new marketing and distribution channel and automated order and fulfilment processes. Joining GHX is an important step in our plans to expand the e-commerce capabilities of E-Z-EM."

GHX was founded by Johnson & Johnson, GE Medical Systems, Baxter International, Abbot Laboratories and Medtronic in 2000. Its focus is to help healthcare providers make more efficient purchasing decisions by simplifying business processes, providing a single source for healthcare purchases, and automating the healthcare supply chain. Membership to the exchange is open to all healthcare manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, providers, group purchasing organizations (GPOs) and other trading and technology partners who play a role in the healthcare procurement process.

The company currently has 75 supplier members and 27 Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs).
