Abbott Laboratories standardizes on Siebel e-Business Applications



Siebel ePharma, a version of Siebel e-Business Applications, will provide Abbott with a multichannel customer information management system designed to enable users to evaluate customer needs and promote relevant products.

Abbott's Pharmaceutical Products Division has selected Siebel ePharma to help streamline sales and marketing reporting and analysis activities. In addition, the system is designed to enable Abbott to create a single repository for customer interactions across multiple locations and communication channels. It also aims to allow healthcare sales representatives to initiate and access customer histories from the field, to prepare for more productive sales calls and provide timely reports.

According to Siebel, by using the up-to-date information, marketing teams will be able to create accurate customer profiles for better-targeted campaigns. Siebel eBusiness Analytics, a component of the Siebel ePharma suite, also will provide Abbott's sales and marketing teams with the ability to measure and evaluate business performance across customers, products, sales and marketing.
