The companies are combining their experience in technology, process improvement, integrated organizational change management, and project management to assist life sciences companies to transition from paper-based to electronic clinical trials using the power of the Internet.

According to the partners, the agreement includes integrated project design and delivery services along with development of a complete set of Medidata specific business process maps. These maps are designed to guide organizations through the business decisions necessary to implement Medidata on an accelerated basis. Using Praxis' integrated change management methodology, organizations will also have a set of Medidata specific change maps that identify where specific shifts in an organization will likely take place, when and where training may be required, and offer strategies for engaging investigators, monitors, analysts, and management to make the change successful.

"As with many technologies, the first generation of electronic data capture (EDC) products and implementations fell way short of their value promises," said Steve Hirschfeld, Senior Vice President of Sales, Medidata. "Second generation buyers are much more knowledgeable about what will be effective, and our solutions are geared specifically to address those issues. Therefore, we are seeing significant growth in adoption of our offerings. Praxis has successfully worked through many of the process and organizational change issues that need to be addressed to move a sponsor aggressively and fully to EDC. Combining their process improvement experience with our technology will be incredibly valuable for our customers."
