Access Worldwide announces development of online sampling fulfillment capabilities

The online sampling service is due to be launched by the third quarter of this year and will be marketed to pharmaceutical companies and established Internet portals. Online sampling is designed to enable members of the medical community to request samples at anytime while enabling pharmaceutical companies to reach physicians in isolated areas.

Access Worldwide is a provider of sales, marketing, Internet and medical education services to clients in the pharmaceutical, telecommunications, financial services and consumer products industries.

Under the new service, physicians will be verified and allowed to request drug samples and literature. Depending on client needs, Access Worldwide will fulfil the requests from its pharmaceutical sample fulfilment centers or forward the verified request to the client's in-house sampling center for processing.

"Pharmaceutical companies ship approximately $12 billion of samples annually, achieved primarily by the efforts of their own sales forces and warehouse systems," stated, Robert Regazzi, Senior Vice President of Access Worldwide and COO of the Company's Phoenix Marketing Group. "However, members of the medical industry are beginning to use the Internet in large numbers. We believe that by adding online sampling capabilities, we are well positioned to increase our sampling revenues."

"Online sampling is the first in what we believe will be a suite of pharmaceutical Internet services from Access Worldwide," said Michael Dinkins, Chairman and CEO of Access Worldwide. "We will continue to carve out additional services, in particular, online physician detailing and continuing medical education programs, conducted over the Internet."
