TripSay, described as an intelligent social network, is launching in private beta with a series of new features.

The company was founded in late 2006 and is currently located in Helsinki, Finland.

TripSay is a connected and personalised social community for those who wish to document their travels, earn "travel fame," share secrets and discoveries with fellow enthusiasts, and also actively seek their next adventure. TripSay is not a service for searching the best price for a vacation package.

"We believe that the problem with consumer travel sites is not lack of information, it's just the opposite," said founder Juha Huttunen.

"It's almost impossible to find relevant and trustworthy information easily from any one source. TripSay is not only saving hours of unnecessary research across multiple networks and search engines, it also helps people avoid the mistakes associated with unqualified information – as generic reviews can mean so many different things to different people," added Huttunen.

According to the company, TripSay delivers quality over quantity and uses a unique recommendation engine to proactively match destinations, places, sights, content, and activities for people across their network of friends as well as with those with similar tastes. It creates a community rooted in the exchange of expertise as well as trust.

New features introduced include:

- Groups where users can share and collaborate. They are taggable to help connect based on keywords and rated based on activity.

- An activity hub that combines recent activities as well as those from individual networks in one map upon login.

- Recommendations can be filtered and presented on the map based on individual preferences.

- An expert travel leaderboard for those all-stars who contribute content and earn points.

- The ability to share favorite and dream destinations to make connections based on interests.
