Hostelworld.com's social networking platform My World has recorded its millionth member. The platform was launched in November 2006.

MyWorld allows users to connect with fellow travellers, track their travels on their own personal map, view bookings, review hostels, and upload photos and blogs.

New features recently added to the MyWorld Travel Network include an interactive route planner where users can store favourites and bookings, view reviews and plan future trips based on hostel locations. The new map application has the added benefit of a Facebook add-on enabling Hostelworlders to share trips with their Facebook friends (http://apps.facebook.com/hostelworld/) .

Future plans for the travel network include the integration of video and the development of a "meeters" list enabling solo travellers to find like-minded people to hook up with in their next destination.
