VRX Studios Inc. has signed a three-year licensing agreement to provide 360-degree virtual hotel tours, still images, and interactive maps to Expedia for its global points of sale, including Expedia and hotels.com.

VRX is delivering the content to Expedia under its new distribution programme, Athena.

Under Athena, Expedia will integrate a package of rich media content, as well as update existing hotel content. In addition, Expedia hotel partners that work with VRX now have the option to post their VRX content on Expedia.

With Expedia's visitors worldwide will be able to access panoramic views and more of hotel rooms, grounds and amenities before they book.

David MacLaren, Chief Executive Officer, VRX said Athena's innovative approach to the online distribution of hotel content will simplify the way Expedia accesses multimedia hotel content.

"Instead of having to accept the same content that all others use, for the first time, Expedia brands will be able to choose, image by image, the content they need to meet the needs of their customers," he said.
