CMA CGM group to acquire GEFCO

CMA CGM group is set to improve their logistics subsidiary with the acquisition

Shipping and logistics company CMA CGM Group is set to acquire 100% of the capital of GEFCO, a European automotive logistics company.

CMA CGM has a logistics subsidiary currently, CEVA Logistics, which provides services to customers in France and Europe. The subsidiary’s position is said to be strengthened by this acquisition according to the Chair of CMA CGM Group, Rodolphe Saade.

GEFCO operates in 47 countries and has customers in the aerospace, pharmaceutical, energy and retail sectors. The CMA CGM Group intends to let GEFCO continue operating in a secure regulatory framework with the intention of growing its development in international markets. 

Recently, the company has also acquired Ingram Micro CLA and Colis Priva, both said to help move CEVA Logistics into the e-commerce space, as well as into market segments such as technology, retail and fashion.
