Vegas.com has selected Percussion Software’s Rhythmyx Enterprise Content Management System to leverage its content across multiple web sites and sales channels online and offline.

According to an official release, Rhythmyx will deliver content for the company’s three main web sites, which include Vegas.com, LasVegas.com and the Spanish language site espanol.vegas.com.

It also will feed content to the company’s 24/7 contact centre based in the Las Vegas area, and to more than 26 retail and concierge desk locations at major hotels in Las Vegas, as well as provide content for private-label and cobranded sites for Vegas.com partners, such as US Airways Vacations and America Online.

Rhythmyx will replace the content management functionality in the company’s homegrown system as part of a major infrastructure upgrade designed to give the company a more robust technology platform.

Mike Brown, Vegas.com’s vice president of Internet Marketing, said that Vegas.com’s singular focus on Las Vegas means the company needs to deliver constantly updated information and exhaustive detail, and no topic is too small or too large to cover. This includes a full range of travel products, such as hotel rooms, air-hotel packages, show tickets, tours, golf, and front-of-line nightclub passes, as well as uniquely Vegas content such as booking odds, sportsbook reviews and guides to the best Vegas buffets.

“We selected Percussion’s Rhythmyx system to handle a large volume of content, simplify frequent updates, and easily repurpose content to serve all of our touch points, including the web, our contact center and live concierge and retail services offered to hotel guests. Rhythmyx also will enable us to redirect our IT resources away from content production, and turn that responsibility over to our business users,” said Brown.

Percussion Software chief executive officer Barry Reynolds said considering Vegas.com’s complex business model that relies on multiple Web sites and sales channels to deliver timely, accurate travel and entertainment information to its tourism audiences, it makes “an ideal fit for Rhythmyx, which is designed to address the key challenges of enterprise content management, including content reuse, scalability and multi-channel delivery across all touch points.”

Among the reasons behind the initiative is more effective content syndication through deployment of private-label and cobranded sites that offer Las Vegas information, show tickets, etc. under the brands of Vegas.com partners, such as US Airways Vacations and America Online
