Focusing on a key destination by providing customers with comprehensive travel information and exclusive money saving deals, Travelocity has launched a specialised San Diego “super-site”.

The new site, featured at www.travelocity.com/sandiego, is the result of a marketing collaboration forged between Travelocity and the San Diego Convention & Visitors Bureau intended to provide expanded travel information, increased booking options and exclusive travel promotions for fall and winter 2005.

Ross Mantione, vice president of partner marketing for Travelocity, “We make it a priority to be our customers’ champion by providing industry-leading deals, focusing our corporate culture on being a leader in customer service and developing traveler-centric relationships such as this one. We want to be the agent that travelers know they can rely on from the start of the booking process to when they return home.”

Through this initiative, Travelocity has created a one-stop shopping experience for travelers headed to the nation’s seventh largest city.

“Whether looking for miles upon miles of pristine beaches, thousands of great restaurants or world-class entertainment, travelers shopping for trips to San Diego can now locate their dream vacation within a few simple clicks at Travelocity,” says a release.

Travelocity is rolling out the site with the “Kick-Back Funky Free Fall Days” promotion. Customers have the option of buying three nights or more at one of San Diego’s 15 participating hotels now through December 30, 2005, on Travelocity and travel by January 31, 2006 to receive two free tickets to leading area attractions including: SeaWorld San Diego, Hornblower Cruises and Events, San Diego Natural History Museum, San Diego Automotive Museum, USS Midway/San Diego Aircraft Carrier Museum, Reuben H. Fleet Science Center, San Diego Model Railroad Museum.

“Tourism is San Diego’s third largest industry, drawing in more than 27 million visitors last year alone,” said Reint Reinders, president and chief executive officer of the San Diego Convention & Visitors Bureau. “Through this relationship we will better serve these millions of travelers by raising awareness of San Diego’s attractions and providing exclusive travel deals to get them here.”
