Emphasising on trend of customising a vacation, according to a Atlanta Journal-Constitution report, websites are springing up with audio tours of attractions for people with particular interests. It adds that widespread high-speed Internet access is making it easier for vacationers to post detailed live accounts of their trips online for friends, family and sometimes the public.

The report refers to Mark Winters, the creator of RideMax. Winters, a software engineer, released the first version of the program in 2001, covering California’s Disneyland. Last spring, he expanded the programme’s coverage to Disney World in Orlando, Fla. The programme combines meticulous surveys of wait times with complex math to come up with the optimum order in which to visit attractions, as per the report.

“Travel information is almost absurdly easy to find at your destination. Already, guests at the Luxor resort in Las Vegas turn on their cell phones after landing to find a text message asking whether they would like to check in using their phones,” says the report. “Someday, you’ll likely be able to use a mobile device such as a cell phone as your airline boarding pass, hotel room key and charge card.
