US Airways has teamed up with Usablenet mobile to provide Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) and web-based cell phone users with content and functionality from www.usairways.com optimised for these devices.

As per the information available, previously, US Airways customers could only check schedules from their handhelds. With Mobile US Airways, customers can easily navigate through the low-graphics, specialised format and use almost all of the features and functionality available at www.usairways.com, including searching for flights, making a reservation, changing a reservation and checking flight status.

“Today it seems like almost all of our customers have a wireless device of some kind on which they have grown accustomed to conducting all manner of business wherever they are. US Airways is now one of a small number of airlines that allows passengers to purchase a ticket via their device, providing the ultimate freedom to all our customers,” said Travis Christ, VP, Sales and Marketing for US Airways.

“With a new, convenient text service to be announced later this summer, US Airways is about to become one of the most wireless friendly carrier in the skies,” said Christ.

Customers can also sign up to become a member of Dividend Miles, US Airways’ frequent flyer programme, and log in to their Dividend Miles account using Mobile US Airways.

To access Mobile US Airways, customers can simply visit www.usairways.com from their PDA or web-enabled cell phone.
