Online travel company Opodo has appointed Sam Jabbour as chief information officer.

Online travel company Opodo has appointed Sam Jabbour as chief information officer.

Jabbour will be responsible for all aspects of the company’s technology strategy, engineering, and architecture operations ensuring that Opodo continues to provide the most consumer-friendly technology platform in online travel.

Jabbour, who started his career with IBM in 1974, joined in 1988 and held several positions within the Amadeus Development Company, in the Communications, Travel Agency Management Systems and Systems Planning departments.

He rejoined Amadeus in 2001 as Director, Systems Planning before taking on the role of Director Development for Travel Office Products & Services (TOPS) in 2003 where he had overall responsibility for the various divisions and departments responsible for delivering Amadeus distributed solutions to Travel Agencies, Tour Operators and Airline Offices.
