ITC Infotech, an IT services provider, has signed a framework agreement with Finnair for outsourcing of projects to be delivered in an onsite-offshore mode.

Under the agreement, ITC Infotech will implement the frequent flyer loyalty programme and marketing and promotions applications at Finnair. This will be followed by support and maintenance services for these applications for a five-year period.

ITC Infotech says its “CRM expertise coupled with its focus on the airline and travel segment helped it clinch the deal in the face of stiff competition from other offshore IT services providers.”

Hardeep Garewal, chief executive officer, ITC Infotech UK said, “Finnair did a rigorous evaluation of our capabilities and ability to take on an area as strategic as the loyalty program for the airline.

Tom Kallstron, vice president – eBusiness development, commercial division, Finnair said, “ITC Infotech will give us the flexibility and resources that we were looking for. As far as the new CRM system is concerned we will be able to respond much quicker to customers’ demand.”

In 2005, Finnair carried over 8.5 million passengers.
