Ignite Technologies, Inc. has shared that it is helping to transform business communications and operations throughout Sabre Holdings’ growing and widely dispersed global workforce.

Ignite provides Content Delivery Solution enabling customers to efficiently publish, deliver and manage digital assets.

Sabre deployed the Ignite Content Delivery Solution in April 2006 on approximately 6,000 desktops and laptops worldwide.

According to an official release, since then “Sabre has realised savings and measurable improvement for effective delivery of rich media for corporate communications such as executive video broadcasts and for software delivery including applications and security patches.”

“Our employee makeup has changed dramatically in the past few years. As recently as 2002, only 16 percent of our team worked outside the United States; today more than 50 percent of employees are outside the US,” said Todd Pickett, regional service delivery manager, Americas, Sabre Holdings.

“Mergers and acquisitions during the past couple years have made us reconsider our communications business model. We need the ability to easily and effectively distribute content to a global workforce networked through varied Internet connections and bandwidths. The Ignite Content Delivery Solution enables us to reach our global employee base online or offline and deliver rich multimedia communications or IT software content without network congestion,” said Pickett.

From September through December 2006, Sabre has distributed more than 128,000 deliveries – 615 Gigabytes of content – consisting of executive videos, earnings reports, surveys, training manuals, general internal corporate communications, software and security patches.

“Reporting and analytics indicate a significant increase in viewing the media rich corporate communications. This increased viewership is attributed to Ignite’s technology which enables employees to view the TV-quality video full screen, without buffering or launching special media players, both online and offline,” stated the release.

“In addition to corporate communications and training departments, Sabre’s information technology department also uses Ignite’s technology to deliver software applications, updates, and security patches as well as perform computer and software inventory checks. Significant labour cost savings result from minimising the time needed for creation of new employee desktop environments and by cutting the time it takes to deliver software applications from weeks to just minutes. For example, a critical software patch sent to over 4,000 workstations had an average delivery time of seven minutes, a remarkable improvement over the previous three-week long delivery window.”
