Expedia has selected Progress Sonic as the messaging infrastructure for its reservation system.

The online travel company shared that Sonic will be the messaging backbone for Expedia’s new architecture.

“Having the flexibility to change services as needed and the ability to do it quickly will ensure that Expedia customers always receive the highest level of service that the market has to offer,” said Paul Onnen, CTO of Expedia.

As per the information available, Progress Sonic simplifies the integration and reuse of business components using a standards-based SOA.

“Sonic delivers unmatched service availability, high performance, exceptional management capabilities and unsurpassed scalability for sophisticated enterprise deployments such as Expedia’s. Additionally, Sonic’s exclusive Continuous Availability Architecture (CAA) provides high availability and transactional fault tolerance, eliminating the risk of lost data,” stated a release.
