Business interest is increasing in Ethical Corporation’s ninth annual Responsible Business Summit, slated to take place on the 4th and 5th May 2010 in London. The conference is historically one of the major highlights of the CSR calendar in Europe, and organisers are confident that this year will be a particular high point. London, 22 September 2009

The Responsible Business, the largest CSR and sustainability conference in Europe has had it’s dates set for next year. The ninth version of the conference will take place on the 4th and 5th May in London.

The event usually brings together 500+ CSR professionals to debate and discuss every aspect of responsible business. As Jeff Swartz, CEO of Timberland has said,

“Ethical Corporation bring together the best in business to make a difference”.

Over the years, the conference has brought together an enviable roster of world business leaders. These include Mr Swartz himself, Anders Dahlvig, CEO of IKEA, Ian Hudson, European President of DuPont, Hans Ulrich Maerki, European Chairman of IBM, John Varley, CEO of Barclay’s Bank and Richard Lambert, Director General of the Confederation of British Industry.

From the preliminary planning of the event, it looks as if the 2010 conference will bring together an equally elevated list of speakers. Already confirmed is Kenneth Bengtsson, President and CEO of Scandinavia’s largest retailer, ICA. Other speakers attending include senior representatives from Maersk, Tesco, Royal Ahold, H&M, IKEA and Arcelor Mittal.

Whilst a full conference agenda and speaker list will be released in late October, interested CSR professionals can learn more about the event at the conference website – www.ethicalcorp.com/rbs-new.

This year, the conference will be attracting further attention with the launch of the first Ethical Corporation Awards, taking place on the evening of the first conference day. With 12 categories, ranging from "Sustainability Commercialised" to "Authentic Communications", the ceremony will bring together the leading proponents of 'responsible business' at work today.
