CSR professionals from the world’s biggest mining, steel and oil & gas companies will arrive in London on the 5th – 6th April to debate and discuss the best methods of implementing their social and environmental policies in locations across the globe.

London 19/01/11

When ICMM (International Council on Mining & Metals) asked the mining industry for their thoughts on what were the biggest sustainability issues they faced the answers were conclusive. 40% of respondents were worried by environmental challenges whilst another 28% found social concerns challenging.

Ethical Corporation, a leader in CSR intelligence for business, is therefore launching its second Social & Environmental Risk Management and Implementation conference at a time that is highly appropriate. Liam Richardson, the conference director, offered the following remarks:

“I fundamentally believe that this conference will help bridge the knowledge gap in terms of creating an effective risk management framework and then implementing a CSR strategy on a project site. After a lot of painstaking research I think that these issues are really the core difficulties for CSR professionals in the extractive sector. I think we may be able to provide the solutions.”
