This case study looks at the value and impacts of data collection on sugarcane production

More specifically it focuses on the value of developing a single platform for sugarcane production data to be utilized by producers, buyers and investors alike. A multi-use data management approach gives increased incentive to improve data collection because many stakeholders stand to benefit. By mapping data to specific producers, buyers can clearly trace the origin of their supply and understand how and under what conditions the sugar they are buying is produced. Producers can use the analytics to improve production and investors can more easily assess risks before investing.
