Liebherr-Hydraulikbagger GmbH has broken ground on a new logistics centre in Kirchdorf, Austria

Liebherr-Hydraulikbagger GmbH has broken ground on a new logistics centre in Kirchdorf, which is situated in northern Austria, placing it around 120km from Munich by road. The centre, which is projected to cost €35 Million, is expected to be complete its first phase 2019 and will create an incoming goods area with a high-bay warehouse.

The centre’s first stage will have an air lock for lorries with a 20 t crane system and overall measure around 245 m by 96 metres with a height of about 22 metres.

In the second stage another high-bay warehouse and logistics areas for order picking, consolidation and packaging are to be erected.

The workstations will be set up with modern technical systems and the complex logistics requirements will be supported by a warehouse management system. For day-to-day work modern picking vehicles Liebherr says a driving assistance system will be available to the employees.

"With the restructuring and the optimisation of the material flow, the logistics centre for production will make an important contribution in the future to efficient and high-quality production", said Matthias Herzog, Production Manager for Liebherr-Hydraulikbagger GmbH.
