GT Radial's Truck & Bus Division Launches Two New Tyres at Reifen 2014

GT Radial's European Truck and Bus Division (TBR) has increased its portfolio with two new product launches at Reifen 2014 - the GSW226 high traction steer axle and GTL925 low platform trailer pattern tyres.

The GSW226 is the brand's first specific ‘winter' marked tyre and has been designed specifically for snow, ice and wet road conditions. With an emphasis on all-season traction and breaking, the product has also been designed to deliver high mileage potential.

Developed for modern three-metre high mega trailer configurations, the GTL925 long distance tyre has an extra wide low-profile casing resulting in a very regular wear pattern with low rolling resistance and noise emissions. Wide shoulder ribs increase protection against impact damage.

Both products are due to come to the market before the end of 2014, at which point further details will be released on sizes and specific product features.

The recently launched GSR225 Combi Road multi-usage tyre also made its European show debut. Specially developed tread and base compounds improve mileage and a wider tread pattern delivers excellent handling and extra resistance to tearing and curbing, making it appropriate for regional and long-haul vehicles.

In addition the new casing construction has been developed for increased load indexes to cater for Euro VI regulations and the extra weight which will be added to the axle by emission filters and other air cleaning devices.

The GSR225 Combi Road 22.5" tyre is currently available in sizes295/80, 315/70,315/80, 275/70 and 315/60. Load indexes range from 148/145M to 156/150L.

Also on show was over 15 of GT Radial's leading TBR products including the GAM831 non-directional, all-position mixed service, GAU861 all-position urban city-bus, GTL919 long-haul road trailer and GAR820 regional all-position tyre.

Peter Foulkes, Marketing Director Europe - Commercial Tires at Giti Tire, manufacturer of GT Radial, said: "Many of the products on show made their debut at Reifen 2014, such is the number of launches and next generation upgrades we have brought to market in the last two years alone.

"Above this we were very proud to display the GSW226 and GTL925, which reinforced to every visitor to the stand that our substantial investment in state-of-the-art research and development capabilities is continuing to bring tyres to market, and I can state confidently the future product pipeline is looking strong.

"GT Radial has a very definitive place in the market, and that is a leading mid-tier tyre brand with both the products and value-added fleet services to justify this position. With a hugely comprehensive, European designed, mission-matched product range, we will continue to go from strength-to-strength."
