Chinese e-commerce booms; Big environmental bill for shipping; 3PL Summit preview; New article form Lora Cecere
In just under 2 weeks, most of the eyefortransport team will be in Chicago for the largest event that we have ever hosted, the 11th 3PL Summit and CSCO Forum on June 18-20 (plus the first Big Data in the Supply Chain Conference on June 17-18). I look forward to meeting with over 500 of the very best Supply Chain and Logistics executives there, and I know many of the readers of this newsletter will be present, so look out for me, or drop me an email now to connect on site.
This week’s chosen articles actually make quite a nice snap-shot of the Chicago event, as Lora Cecere will be sharing her wisdom on stage for us, as will Derek Leathers from Werner and the COO of ModusLink. There is also an amazing session, with fantastic speakers exploring omni-channel retail in the USA featuring Home Depot, Office Depot and Sears which leads me on nicely to the China e-commerce story from my friend Cathy Morrow Roberson, which is well worth a read. Lastly, although there is no news story to link it to, regular readers may recall my fascination with 3D printing and how it could affect the Logistics industry…so I’m very excited to have secured a live on-stage demo and Q&A session with a 3D printing manufacturer during the event. I’m going to be moderating this session, so if you have any questions that you would like to me to ask then let me know and I’ll report back afterwards.
