Real-time Supply Chain Innovation with Heineken-led Hackathon

In an effort to address supply chain innovation, eft has partnered with HEINEKEN and Startupbootcamp to host an innovation day in conjunction with the European 3PL Summit and Chief Supply Chain Officer Forum (October 16-18, Venlo).

As innovation has becomes increasingly business critical, eft is going to be hosting a comprehensive innovation day at the European 3PL Summit and Chief Supply Chain Officer Forum involving an in-depth innovation workshop and a hackathon.

Led by innovation experts Startupbootcamp, eft will be providing the information to help workshop attendees run innovation programs within their own organizations. The workshop will feature a case-study by the former CSCO of Pepsi Co. as well as numerous innovative start-ups.

In addition to the workshop, HEINEKEN has been working with eft to provide a real-world supply chain challenge for this year’s European Disrupt Logistics Hackathon. 5 hackathon teams will be on-hand to create and pitch solutions to the problem, pitching them to Heineken and all workshop attendees.

‘Heineken understands the important role innovation plays in supply chain.’ Said Bas van Vugt, manager global innovation at HEINEKEN. ‘In that spirit, we’re really excited to work with supply chain peers on solving a real-world supply chain challenge.’

This initiative is a reflection of HEINEKEN’s Innovators Brewhouse, a connected innovation space created by the brewer to collectively find solutions to HEINEKEN challenges and to shape the future of beer and cider through invention and shared development.

‘Innovation has bucked the trend and successfully navigated its way from buzzword to critical strategy.’ Said Haley Garner, Head of Research and Digital Content at eft. ‘As such, we want to provide out supply chain community with the tools necessary to succeed at innovation.’

eft has classified the hackathon and the workshop as Supply Chain Innovation Day which will be taking place October 16th from 12:00pm-6:00pm at Venlo’s De Maaspoort Theater.
