Industry senior executive Beat Simon appointed President of APL Logistics
NOL Group today announced the appointment of Beat Simon as President of APL Logistics. He will undertake responsibility for the management and growth of APL Logistics.
Mr. Simon is an industry veteran with more than 30 years of diverse international experience. He joins APL Logistics from Agility, a global logistics provider, where he held senior management positions since 2006. These include being Member of the Agility Global Integrated Logistics Management Board, and Member of the Board of Directors of Agility organisations within Europe and joint ventures. He was Chief Executive Officer of Agility Europe responsible for the overall performance of all business activities in Europe, including Turkey, Russia and other members of the Commonwealth of Independent States. In this role, he oversaw the company’s expansion in the region from 11 to 25 countries through acquisitions and organic growth, and was instrumental in building up the European organisation.

Between 2000 and 2006, Mr. Simon assumed various management positions at global supply chain provider Panalpina, including Member of the Panalpina Executive Management Board, as Chief Executive Officer of Latin America and Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs, in Latin America. Prior to joining Panalpina, he spent 18 years at freight forwarder Danzas/DHL, rising through the ranks in various functions and locations to take on management positions such as Country Manager in Colombia from 1995 to 1998, and Country Manager in Brazil from 1998 to 2000.
