NV Energy seeks proposals for 100 MW of renewable energy

Las Vegas- based energy services provider NV Energy is seeking proposals to secure up to 100 MW of additional renewable energy resources.

This request for proposals is for renewable energy for NV Energy’s operating company in Southern Nevada. Subsequent 100-MW RFPs will be issued in 2015 and 2016.

Merrimack Energy Group will serve as the independent evaluator for the Request for Proposals (RFP), and PowerAdvocate will provide the response platform and related technology for the RFP process.

The evaluator will monitor and oversee NV Energy’s 2014 Renewable Energy RFP process. In consultation with the Independent Evaluator, NV Energy will identify projects that:

• Provide the greatest economic benefit to the State of Nevada;

• Assure the creation of new jobs in the State of Nevada; and

• Offer the best value to customers

This request for proposals is for renewable energy for NV Energy’s operating company in Southern Nevada. Subsequent 100-MW RFPs will be issued in 2015 and 2016.

There will be a bidder’s conference on October 10 (to be held at the company’s offices in both Las Vegas and Reno). The last day bids can be submitted is November 12 this year and the company anticipates finalising a shortlist by February 17, 2015.
