New construction strategies emerge for farshore, deepwater wind farms
Despite a buoyant European offshore wind market, offshore construction & installation contractors that fall short of budget and technology challenges risk falling by the wayside.
With a total of 2,396 megawatts of offshore wind capacity already connected to the European grid (333 of which came in the first half of 2010 alone) Europe clearly stands at the forefront of the offshore wind industry. With further projects in the pipeline from the UK, Germany, the Netherlands and most recently France, Europe will continue to be the largest offshore wind energy-producing region in the world for years to come.
