Letter to the Editor: Wanton waste of resources
Responding to last week's Executive Viewpoint, "Offshore wind project insurers: Pivotal to knowledge transfer?", one reader concurs that resources are being squandered, and unnecessary risks are being taken in the offshore wind sector.

I would like to congratulate you on your article. Currently engaged as an HSE Offshore Advisor engaged in the renewable energy sector I find it incredible, and also very sad that resources are wasted and opportunities missed on such a grand scale.
Risks are taken without any need in an industry which is politically very fragile and heavily subsidised. History and research is ignored to satisfy egos at the expense of others. The term “lessons learnt” is used to shield incompetence in the first place.
