Dong Energy “satisfied” with wind energy performance

Danish energy company Dong Energy has shared that its initiatives in the wind energy sector are shaping up in a satisfying manner.

The group stated this as it revealed its results for the first nine months of the year. The entity’s strategic focus on sustaining its momentum in the wind energy segment has resulted in doubling of earnings from this sector this year. This was driven by completion of the two large wind farms London Array and Anholt.

A further three wind farms are under construction, two in the U. K. and one in Germany, and these are expected to be completed in the course of 2014 and 2015.

Overall, earnings (EBITDA) are rising significantly, while debt is falling for the group. EBITDA for the first nine months of 2013 was DKK 11.2 billion compared with DKK 6.6 billion for the same period last year. (1 DKK = US$0.18).
