The Outlook for Global Energy and the Road to COP26

Many believe that the next decade is make or break for the climate.

Businesses and governments are urgently shifting towards net zero. But this shift presents immediate economic challenges, especially with the world recovering post-Covid-19. How have the last nine months impacted these commitments? What does the future hold for the energy sector?

To consider these issues Spencer Dale, group chief economist at BP and former member of the Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee, will discuss the road to net zero with Andrew Brown, a partner at strategic communications firm Apella Advisors. Spencer gave a speech, drawing evidence from BP’s upcoming Energy Outlook, after which Andrew interviewed him, taking questions from the floor.
