Panchajanya Power proposes to set up a concentrated solar thermal power project

Sri Panchajanya Power Private Limited (SPPPL) has signed a power purchase agreement with Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd for setting up of 5 MW concentrated solar thermal power project at Hingoli, Maharashtra.

The company, which is a subsidiary of Hyderabad-based independent power producer Suryachakra Power Corporation Limited (SPCL), is awaiting necessary Government approvals for this project.

SPPPL is operating a 10 MW biomass based power plant at Limbala Village, Hingoli district in Maharshtra. As part of its expansion activities, SPPPL proposes to set up a 5 MW solar thermal based power project adjacent to the existing biomass project.

According to Suryachakra Power Venture Private Limited (SPVL), a group company of SPCL, has already entered into a joint venture with MAN Solar Millennium GmbH (MSM) of Germany for joint development of solar-based power projects in India.

SPVL is keen on setting up of a 5 MW solar thermal power plant each in the districts of Anantapur, Medak and Adilabad in the State of Andhra Pradesh and also in another states like Maharashtra, Gujarat and Chhattisgarh.
