Solar Millennium's Inner Mongolia project moves forward

Feasibility study finalised for the first parabolic trough power plant in China

Solar Millennium is getting closer to building its first solar thermal project in China. The German company is finalising a feasibility study on a 50 MW project in the Inner Mongolia region, according to Power Finance & Risk.

In 2006 the solar power firm agreed to construct solar thermal power plants with a total output of 1,000 megawatts in partnership with two Chinese companies.

In August 2007 Solar Millennium partnered with Inner Mongolia Lvneng New Energy Co. Ltd., establishing headquarters in Hohhot, China.  This first project in Inner Mongolia was included in China's current five-year plan and is designed to be an example for the use of such technology in China.
