Sai Solar Systems ready to commercialise technology

The Indian company searches for funds to support demo plantĀ

Sai Solar Systems , a designer and developer of commercial solar thermal power plants, is looking for a fund to start a demonstration plant of minimum 1MW. The company's spokesperson Kishore Sathe told CSPToday.com that Sai Solar has already acquired lands in two locations in India - Bidar district, Karnataka and Osmanabad district in Maharashtra.

Sai Solar's technology is parabolic dish-based and claims to deliver a supercritical steam above 221 bar pressure. According to Sathe, its concentrated solar thermal power plant can generate more steam and pressure compared to the existing parabolic trough process, and can be used in existing coal-based thermal power plants of capacity up to 600MW.
