Alanod Solar achieves a significant milestone

Alanod claims the top spot in producing and shipping selective absorbing surfaces for the solar thermal industry

Alanod Solar has achieved a significant milestone as it has shipped more than one hundred million square feet of solar absorptive surfaces.

As the manufacturer of reflective and absorptive solar surface solutions, Alanod expects installations in the solar thermal market in the US to continue as a result of new incentives and measures outlined in the recent economic stimulus bill.

Referring to the recently signed American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, it said specifically for solar thermal, the act removes the $2,000 cap on tax credits for the purchase of solar hot water equipment and allows for a full credit of up to 30 per cent for qualified equipment.

The company uses both aluminium and copper surfaces for its coatings.

Alanod’s aluminium absorber is known as Mirotherm (selectively absorbing aluminium strip for solar collectors). Its copper absorber is called Alanod Solar Sunselect (selectively absorbing copper strip for solar collectors).
