ProteoMetrics releases RADARS software package

In the wake of the Human Genome Project, research scientists will be facing a new challenge - a glut of proteomics data. RADARs software automatically processes new mass spectrometry data and compares the results to a database containing information recorded from other protein analysis experiments. The program then suggests the most likely possibilities for the identity of the new protein.

"RADARS is going to change the way proteomics is used for discovering new drug targets," said David Fenyo, President of Preotemics. "It will allow researchers to use proteomics on the same scale as combinatorial chemistry currently uses for identifying small molecule pharmaceuticals."

Development of this software is supported in part by a grant from the National Institutes of Health.
