Joaquín Mould-Quevedo Global HEOR Project Leader, Speciality Medicine at Bayer HealthCare wins the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ at eyeforpharma Latin America 2015.

The eyeforpharma Latin America Awards is in the inaugural year, and was founded with the goal of shining a light on innovators and teams that are driving genuine change within our industry.

By celebrating change makers, the award ceremony is part of eyeforpharma’s broader mission to evangelize the need for pharma to change its focus from selling products, to seeing the powerful opportunity that pharma has to impact and improve the lives of patients.

Joaquín Mould-Quevedo Global HEOR Project Leader, Speciality Medicine at Bayer HealthCare wins the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ at eyeforpharma Latin America 2015. Joaquin Mould-Quevedo has had a distinguished career that has spanned many geographies and institutions. Mould-Quevedo moved from Peru to Spain for a PhD in Alicante, and also pursued an MBA at the renowned Sorbonne in Paris.

His first position within healthcare came with the Social Security Institute in Mexico where he developed innovative economic models to forecast the cost-effectiveness of clinical and hospital practice. He then took a leadership position with the health economics department at Pfizer in Mexico in 2005, and contributed to the successful inclusion of over 30 products into formulary before being promoted to the head of Latin America in 2010. In this role, Mould-Quevedo worked on the market access on a portfolio creating value of more than $2 billion, across 15 countries in just four years. It was following these achievements that he moved into his current role as the Global HEOR Project Leader, Speciality Medicine at Bayer HealthCare.

Mould-Quevedo has contributed significantly to the advancement of knowledge throughout the industry, in 2006 he founded the ISPOR branch in Mexico, the first in Latin America, and has been the author of more than 60 publications in peer-reviewed journals. He currently serves in an editorial role for several leading publications including, Pharmaeconomics, Value in Health and Value in Health Regional Issues.

The awards were announced last night, and were determined by a diverse panel of industry leadership, academia and healthcare stakeholders.
