European Payers Open Dialogue with Big Pharma

The continent’s most influential HTA representatives and payers are coming together for a two day summit to discuss their wants and expectations with senior-level pharmaceutical executives.

Their aim is to create a closer working relationship and smoother transition for new medicines coming to market.

Senior payers from each of the G5 countries of Europe, including representatives from the NHS (UK), G-BA (Germany), AIFA (Italy), HAS (France), and the Extremadura region of Spain will discuss with pharmaceutical experts the current state of affairs in each region and also, the best methods and opportunities for the pharmaceutical industry to partner with them.

The payers will be meeting with the industry during a two day summit entitled the Payers’ Forum Europe at the Hotel Palace in Berlin, Germany. The event will focus on a number of issues currently plaguing European healthcare providers and the pharmaceutical industry including:

The confusion around the payers current areas of attention and their focus for the future 

The difficulties surrounding the creation of a successful applications to the multiple HTA associations across the EU

The increasing disparity between payers focus on budget constraints and pharmas requirement for financial sustainability to allow for innovation

The various opinions on what a successful value proposition looks like and how payers and pharma can work together in win/win relationships
