We're always looking for feedback from the marketing community, in an attempt to build useful benchmarks for you, and spot trends you can use to inform your own priorities.

We asked senior, East Coast brand marketers about disruption - and which of the top five trends we've identified is going to be most disruptive over the coming twelve months:

Which marketing trend is goi (1)

To explain the trends in a little more detail:

  • Unrivaled Customer Experience: Use what you know about your customer to be more relevant and engaging
  • Agile Marketing: Turn insight into action fast. Move towards 'real time' marketing
  • Content creation: Turn your brand into a storyteller and publisher
  • Be everywhere: Multi-channel to cut through the noise and reach your customer
  • Be Seamless: Collaborate internally to ensure deeper customer insight, and a more seamless experience for the customer

As you can see, there's a relatively even split between all the themes, though agile marketing comes out on top, with seamless internal collaboration (perhaps the least 'glamorous' of the trends) bringing up the rear.

What do you think to these stats? Does this order chime with your own focus for 2014?

  1. Agile Marketing: 29.09% of respondents
  2. Unrivaled Customer Experience: 21.82%
  3. Content Creation: 18.18%
  4. Multi-Channel: 16.36%
  5. Seamless Collaboration: 14.55%

If this sort of insight is useful to you, then check out the forthcoming Incite Summits, in San Francisco, New York and London. Bringing together CMOs from large brands to talk about exactly these issues, you won't find a more relevant, senior or useful conference.
